Totango's AI content generator (powered by Jasper) uses generative AI to help you compose text content from a prompt. This tool is available in the following areas of Totango:
Best practices for writing AI prompts
- State the nature of the text, its purpose, and details
- For better results, include as many details as possible
- Generally speaking, the longer the input, the better the response quality
- Input doesn't need to be coherent text or complete sentences
Compose AI content in campaigns
You must have permissions to edit campaigns. Administrators can also customize access permissions to content generator.
- From the Campaigns tab within a SuccessBLOC, click on the campaign you want to edit (or create a new campaign).
- Click inside the campaign body to open the campaign designer.
- Add a new text component, and click inside the component to begin editing.
Generated text will replace existing text in the component (if any).
- From the formatting bar, click the AI Content Generator button.
- Within the AI Content Generator window, begin typing your prompt. Detail your campaign's context and goals for best results. (Max 800 characters.) When finished, click Compose.
The text is sent to Jasper for analysis and conversion. The generated text automatically appears within the text block. - Modify and format the generated text as needed. In the example above, the generated text included a recommended subject line and signature due to the "write an email" directive in our original prompt.
We recommend starting with several empty text components, and generate multiple pieces of content to compare and edit for your preferred final version.
Compose AI content in touchpoints
You must have permissions to add touchpoints. Administrators can also customize access permissions to content generator.
- From within My Portfolio, account view, or segment view, add a touchpoint.
- From the formatting bar, click the AI Content Generator button.
Generated text will replace existing text in the touchpoint description (if any).
- Within the AI Content Generator window, begin typing key elements of your touchpoint description. (Max 800 characters.)
AI receives additional instructions on how to write a touchpoint, so it's not necessary to specify the desired section; providing details about the engagement is enough.
- When finished, click Compose.
The text is sent to Jasper for analysis and conversion. The generated text automatically appears within the touchpoint description. - Modify and format the generated text as needed.
Clicking the the AI Content Generator button again allows you to start from your last prompt.

You must have permissions to create tasks. Administrators can also customize access permissions to content generator.
- From within My Portfolio, account view, or segment view, add a task.
- From the formatting bar, click the AI Content Generator button.
Generated text will replace existing text in the task description (if any).
- Within the AI Content Generator window, begin typing key elements of your touchpoint description. (Max 800 characters.)

- When finished, click Compose.

Other considerations
Privacy
Only the information that you input into the prompt will be sent for analysis to the AI engine. No other data is shared with Jasper servers. No personal information or commercial data is used in the process. See Totango AI terms of use.
Disclaimer
This feature is in a beta program. Totango is closely monitoring the quality of the output, satisfaction, repetitive usage, and other metrics. As with many other AI tools, the AI Content Generator learns and gets better over time.

Beta program and activation
Question: How do I join the Jasper AI beta program?
Answer: Please email your Totango CSM.
Question: Can I opt out once I have joined? If so, how?
Answer: Yes, simply email your Totango CSM or Support (support@totango.com), and state that you wish to opt out. We will process your request in a timely manner.
Question: Will joining the beta program affect my existing settings or data?
Answer: No, the feature is designed in such a way that it doesn’t use or modify existing data or settings. It’s an additional capability that helps your teams generate text content.
Question: Does joining the beta program incur additional charges?
Answer: No, the beta program is free of charge and is designed to last at least three months.
Data and security
Question: Where is the data processed by Jasper AI stored?
Answer: All data is stored and processed in the US. See Jasper's security policy.
Question: Does Jasper AI meet Totango's security and privacy standards?
Answer: Yes, Totango's Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with Jasper meets global privacy standards. See Jasper's security policy.
Question: How is data protected during the transition to Jasper AI?
Answer: Data is encrypted and de-identified, according to standard protocols for online data exchange.
Question: Will any of my data be used to train models?
Answer: No, neither Totango nor Jasper train models on our own customer's data. Jasper has a special legal arrangement with their subprocessors to exclude such usage of customers' data.
Compliance and legal
Question: Is Jasper AI compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection laws?
Answer: Yes, please refer to Jasper's compliance portal.
Question: Do I need to update my Data Processing Agreement (DPA) to include Jasper AI?
Answer: No action is required from your side. Upon opting in, Jasper is covered by the existing DPA. Jasper is included in Totango's list of subprocessors.
As per Section 5.2 of our DPA, Totango can enlist new subprocessors, provided we give adequate notice. You are allowed to object to a new subprocessor, at which point we will turn off that new feature from your instance. Because this is an opt-in feature, you can object by simply not opting in.
