Who can use this feature?
- Global admins or users with advanced permissions
- Available on all plans
Hide data to keep your teams from viewing unused attributes that are no longer needed. You can hide account-level attributes, custom metrics, or hierarchy roll-ups.
Hidden data will only be visible to Totango users with the "Attribute Visibility" permission (User Management > Permissions > Application Permissions > View hidden data).
Hide an attribute or custom metric
You can hide any account attribute or custom metric, except for system custom metrics (cog wheel with check icon).
- Within Settings, expand Data Management > Data Modeler.
- From the Account Attributes tab, click on the attribute or custom metric you want to modify.
- From within the attribute properties, select the box next to Hide this attribute. (If modifying a custom metric, you must click to Preview the affected accounts.)
- Click Save.
The attribute will be denoted with an "x" icon in Data Modeler.
Team members who have permission to see hidden data can still edit the data and will see a "hidden" icon anywhere this attribute appears in Totango (e.g., account profile, segment filters, segment columns).
Team members who do not have permission to see hidden data will no longer see the attribute referenced anywhere in Totango, except where still in use (e.g., has a value). In those cases, these team members will also see a "hidden" icon where that attribute appears, can edit the attribute value, but cannot filter using the attribute. Privately saved segments that use the hidden attribute will remain, but the attribute is not available to use as a filter in any new segments.
Hide a hierarchy roll-up
If you hide a hierarchy roll-up that uses a custom metric in the calculation, the custom metric will also be hidden.
- Within Settings, expand Data Management > Data Modeler.
- From the Account Attributes tab, click on the roll-up metric you want to modify.
- From within the roll-up properties, select the box next to Hide this rollup.
- Click Save.
The attribute will be denoted with an "x" icon in Data Modeler (unless it is a system hierarchy roll-up).
