  3. Configure the following notification options:
    • Receive notifications about: Data files upload, CRM integrations, data warehouses integrations, bulk write-back (failure and partial success)
    • Receive notifications upon: Start, failure, partial success, success
    • Define notification channel:
      • Email: Integration Owner, named Totango user(s), or add a custom email address or distribution list (e.g., ops@mycompany.com).
      • Slack: Requires you to configure Zoe for Slack. Once @zoe is enabled for your workspace, all channel members can ask @zoe any question and be exposed to the information @zoe is allowed to access (only the information belongs to the Totango teams she is part of).
      • Webhook: Enter URL, content type, and test the payload preview. (See below.)

A received Webhook Notification will have a hardcoded event as the heading - “type”: “upload_event”. Further details of the event are provided in the ensuing fields.

  4. Click Save.

Use case: Configure a notification via webhook

Consider the following scenario: You want to create a critical task in Jira for the ops team whenever a file upload to Totango fails. Use Zapier to connect company data points, and connect Totango notifications with Jira.

  1. Create a Zapier webhook catch trigger.
    webhook 1.gif
  2. Configure the webhook in URL in Customer Data Hub notifications. (See above.)
  3. Configure Jira ticket creation using Zapier. To start configuring this webhook in Zapier, you'll need to send a sample webhook trigger and make sure will "catch" it.
    • Activate webhook catching in Zapier (click OK, I did this).

    • Click the webhook test button (near the preview payload link) to send a sample payload to the defined Webhook URL. This is how the webhook testing looks like:

    • Go back to Zapier, to configure the Jira ticket creation.

    • Once the Jira ticket creation action is ready, you only need to test it.

Now whenever a file upload fails, a Jira task is automatically created for your company's ops team.
