We're in the process of actively consolidating ours, but I'd say we're somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 right now.

With that said, it's important to note that a sizable chunk of ours are clones of each other that have been slightly tweaked for specific lines of business and then translated into multiple languages... so 1 specific campaign may permutate out into 30-50 that we've had to configure into Totango, for example.

Wow, that's impressive! How do you maintain that many campaigns? Do you have several different owners and a review cadence for example?

Exactly. It's a big effort for sure and we have multiple stakeholders involved with content creation, then several layers of review and approval before any configuration even begins. We also avoid making changes very often given the sheer magnitude of the configuration effort involved when we do.

Where we likely differ from most Totango customers is we centrally manage ALL campaign configuration through a dedicated team. While it makes us slightly less agile, it brings huge benefits in terms of message consistency and avoiding any redundant / conflicting content going to our customers. This approach also allows us to group config updates together into specific releases (which we do monthly) so we may better plan and prep resources for it. When needed, we divide and conquer and assign individual team members to execute updates to specific campaigns in the system (Person 1 updates Campaigns X to X+10, Person 2 updates Campaigns X+11 to X+20, etc).

Acknowledging this is a big effort for us, the Totango team has been massively focused on improved campaign administration options as a key roadmap item this year and we're excited to explore the improvements they've been readying for deployment. Hope this helps!
