Is there a specific attribute type, other than Text, that would work for a brief summary?

Want to be able to provide a quick summary of status when sending reports and would like to have an attribute like "Weekly Notes" that would be edited weekly by the CSM.  The only field I see that would work is Text and when you try to edit it it will show all of the previous values...is that the only option?
