Re-order tasks in a SuccessPlay
Tasks cannot currently be re-ordered in a SuccessPlay, while a task can be deleted or added at the end.
If we want to modify a SuccessPlay to add an intermediary step, we currently have no choice but to delete all the tasks following the point we want to insert a new task at, then re-create them all. This is not very efficient and pretty error-prone.

Sean Thomas and Ron,
In a SuccessPlay, all the actions (all tasks) and any other actions all fire at the same time when the criteria are met. However, tasks can have different due dates. E.g., Task 1 can be due in 3 days, vs. Task 2 can be due in 7 days...
We automatically sort tasks by their due dates. Assignees will see this order in their Agenda tab in My Portfolio.
So ordering items here is not going to help. Can you elaborate on what purpose it serves to order them when they all fire simultaneously?

I am sure you and I can come up with some but if you did stagger them by a day they will line up.. Task 1 is due in 5 days, Task 2 is due in 6 days and Task 3 is due in 7 days...
I will keep this item in mind for the future. If you have a strong and compelling case that will benefit a large set of customers please add it here. I am eager to see what other customers come up with.
Thanks
Vijay

Vijay,
We are trying to build out a success plays. The hierarchy I want to use is:
Objective -> tasks -> subtasks
However, since subtasks don't exist I'm trying to create a naming convention that combines the idea of tasks with subtasks. Example "Install: Configure X", "Deploy: Enable Y". And I'm then assigning the same dates to all tasks based on the name. Anything with "Install" in the name gets 5 day, anything with "Deploy" in the name gets 6 days...etc. However, I still have a need to control the order in which those tasks with "install" in the name show up because they are sequential. The workaround of setting a different day for each task doesn't scale. So, I'd like to see the following:
Option 1: Provide the ability for both objectives and tasks (built via success plays) to have subtasks. That would remove the issue of date manipulation as they would all be naturally group appropriately.
Option 2: For tasks due on the same day, provide the ability to set the order. Or even just make them alphabetical as that can be manipulated.

I can easily foresee a real and valid use case where the suggested workaround of staggered due dates would not be sufficient. On the surface it sounds agreeable, but will probably only work for limited number of scenarios. If the list of tasks is any greater than 2-3 (ie. 7+ tasks) then the overall due date spans a full week. Not optimal if trying to ensure all tasks are completed within a day or two.
