For customers who use the Email to TouchPoint function and would like an alternative to the recency rule. Now you can create a default destination account for your CC / BCC emails to Touch Points:
Background: Until now, if you have a contact on an account who is associated with multiple accounts, TouchPoint emails to that contact are logged by default to the most recent account associated with that contact (the "Recency Rule").
Now, for clients who would like to bypass this rule and assure that the TouchPoint emails to this contact are always associated with a specific account. They have to option to set the Account as the default for that contact.
Steps: Setup is simple:
- Make sure the email address is a contact of the account.
- Select the new account attribute TouchPoint Default BCC Email for the desired account, and set flag to “True”
3. If Contact is connected to more than one account only one should be flagged as the default.
4. Send your TP emails to your contact and it will log into Account they have flagged with the attribute.
Remember - the contact should only have one account listed as the TP BCC Email contact (Attribute set to "True"), otherwise the Recency Rule will apply.
Q: Why was this function created?
A: It was created as an override to the recency rule. This is especially helpful to route TPs to contacts who are associated with multiple account, but may only be primary for a single one. (examples might include 3rd party consultants, contractors, or distributors).
Q: What happens if the flag is set to true for more than one account for this contact?
A: If more than one account has the TP BCC Default flag set to True, the Recency Rule will apply to the contact email.
