Use revenue filters

Who can use this feature?

  • All users; adjusting the Financial Year Settings requires global admin or advanced permissions.
  • Available on all plans and license types

Revenue-related filters allow you to segment customers based on renewal and churn values for historical or future quarters.

These filters include:

  • Renewable Accounts: Contract Renewal Date falls within specified date range
  • Renewed Accounts: Contract Value AND Contract Renewal Date were updated since the start of the specified date range
  • Churned Accounts: Contract was canceled within specified date range

An account will always show as "Renewable" for the quarter if the renewal date was in the quarter on the first day of the quarter. The renewables list remains the same as it was on the first day of the quarter unless historical data was changed.

You can query specific historical periods; however, trend over time is not available for these metrics. Segments that rely on these filters are not available for reports.

Admins can set the Financial Year Settings in Settings > General, including start of year (month) and current financial year.

Create a segment with revenue filters

  1. Create a new account segment, or open an existing segment.
  2. Click+More Filters to refine the list of results.

  3. Choose a revenue filter, and then specify the time period to query. Available options include:
    • In current <month|quarter>
    • In next <month|quarter>
    • In previous <month|quarter>
    • In a specific <month|quarter> <year(optional)>
  4. Click Apply Filter. The matching records appear in the grid.
  5. Click Edit Columns to optionally add revenue-related columns and/or adjust time periods.

Edit revenue segment columns

Additionally, the following segment columns are available for a selected time period. These values are automatically calculated based on changes to Contract Renewal Date and Contract Value:

  • Renewable Revenue: Contract value for Renewable Accounts
  • Renewed Revenue: Contract value for Renewed Accounts
  • Upsell Revenue: New contract value minus old contract value for Renewed Accounts
  • Downgraded Revenue: Old contract value minus contract value for Renewed Accounts
  • Lost Revenue: Contract value for Churned Accounts
